Two major label manufacturers that make sheets of labels are Avery & Dennison. Generally your Office Supplies Co. can get you sheets of labels for ExpressWrite from one or both of these companies.
There are a few things that are not discussed in the manual, due to our oversight. These are discussed below.
1. Editing a Cell in the Merge Window- “Command/” with a cell selected will open up the Cell Editing Dialog Box so that cell may be edited. This is equivalent to double-clicking on that cell.
2. Moving around the Merge Window- If you have a cell selected in the merge window, the arrow keys on the (Mac Plus and up) keyboard will move to the next cell in the appropriate direction. This, combined with the “command/” key command, is a mouse-less way of editing a row or column of cells.
3. There is an additional Merge File size limit besides the 32K limit mentioned in the manual. ExpressWrite will open a maximum of 250 records at a time for merging, regardless of the size in bytes of the Merge File. If the data for your Merge Files is larger than this, it is best to either break it up into several smaller files, or to keep it all in one large file, but maintaining the data (adding, deleting, changing) in another database program. ExpressWrite allows you to begin reading at any record number, so you can always access all of the records, but in chunks of 32K or 250 records in each chunk.
4. When ExpressWrite prints addresses on envelopes or labels, if there is a field on a line such as Address2, ExpressWrite will eliminate the extra blank line that occurs whenever there is no data for that field. For instance, if you set up your Destination address as follows:
